Beaches or Bleachers? Local Travel Company Offers Unique Vacation Options

With Labor Day fast approaching, many in Muscatine want to squeeze in one last trip before summer slips away. Whether you want to take an exotic Jamacian vacation or just take in a Cubs game, locally owned Beaches or Bleachers Travel Company (BOB) can help you do just that.
Amanda and Nick Elliott opened BOB after several lucky events made it possible. Amanda grew up in a family of die-hard Cubs fans. In 2014, after waiting for seven years, her father, Tom Langan, finally got the opportunity to purchase season tickets. The family could not use every ticket they got each year. Rather than let them go to waste, they started to look for ways to sell them off and give others the opportunity to enjoy a game at Wrigley Field.

Around the same time, the Elliotts also purchased a condo unit in Jamaica. Twenty years earlier, Amanda’s parents first visited Jamaica for their honeymoon. They fell in love with the spot, and over the years they took Amanda on trips there many times. While dating, Amanda brought Nick along on one of their trips, and he enjoyed it so much that the couple decided to have a destination wedding there later. When Amanda’s parents saw a new condominium development going up not far from their favorite travel spot, they encouraged the Elliotts to reserve a unit, and after much careful planning, they did. Unable to visit Jamaica often, they knew they could put the apartment to good use renting it out.

In 2016, the Elliotts realized that they could combine their two interests to create a one of a kind travel company. The two opened BOB and started helping people around the community begin booking amazing vacation experiences. As their business has grown over the past three years, the couple has thoroughly enjoyed expanding their business and the chance it gives them to share their favorite things with others in the community. More than just helping people set up trips, the Elliotts also love sharing their passion by donating vacations and Cubs tickets to area charities to assist them with live and silent auction fundraisers. “One of the pleasures [of running BOB] is that we give a lot to charities . . . to get our name out there and to help great causes,” explained Amanda.

As Muscatine looks for its last hurrah of summer fun, the Elliotts encourage you to check out BOB. Whether you call them at (312)-600-7779 or visit their website, https://beachesorbleachers.com/, they can help you plan the perfect vacation.
