Why are you running for election?

We have a great foundation and I truly believe Muscatine is a thriving community that is heading in the right direction. I seek to offer my unique skillsets and passion for our city so as to make a positive impact on our progress. Everyone deserves an opportunity to prosper and the time has come to appreciate our present while planning for our future. Through charismatic leadership and an empathetic concern for our collective experience, I will aspire to provide the sweet rewards of teamwork using marketing and effective communication.

I hope that residents can join me on a journey to make our great town even better! Through positivity, unity, inclusion, and collaboration we can upgrade our standard of living and well-being to realize our fullest potentials. As individuals, as families and as a COMMUNITY!

We have the power to make a difference and I want to lead our community towards an increased standard of well-being and civic pride.

What is the most important issue facing your office? Why does it matter? How will you address it?

The negative attitudes and opinions some residents have regarding our great city. This is impairing our ability to grow and prosper, as it discourages non-residents to live, work and play here. I will shine a positive light on all the great things happening through media/marketing communications.

What is the second most important issue facing your office? Why does it matter? How will you address it?

There is a polarization in our council that has poisoned our local discourse. This has compromised our community’s ability to cooperate and treat each other with respect. I will utilize levity to lighten things up, so we can return to better. Let’s have some fun, while getting things done.

If elected, what steps would you take to improve perceptions of Muscatine in the surrounding area?

I would create a contest that asked citizens to write a Municipal Anthem. Local orchestras, choirs and musicians would produce a song that would be voted on. This would enhance civic pride, historical knowledge and community attitudes. I would then produce a music video featuring residents.

What is the most important thing you would like voters to know about you that they may not?

I am taking this candidacy very seriously, though I have chosen an unconventional approach to getting elected. I actually am not an idiot. I am an intelligent and highly educated member of our community who will not embarrass nor shame our town. However, I am not a politician. I am merely a proud resident of our city who is offering to “give back” by devoting more of my time and energy in an effort to maintain our progress while inspiring prosperity.
