MUSCATINE, Iowa–The Muscatine Community Continuity Fund received $20,000 from United Way of Muscatine in support of COVID-19 needs. Established by the Community Foundation of Greater Muscatine to assist nonprofits and support the immediate and emerging needs of residents of Muscatine County caused by COVID-19 containment efforts, the fund will match donations up to $70,000. Funding from federal and state sources can have barriers to receiving funding quickly, or even at all. COVID-19 containment efforts will impact organizations in many ways, and the fund will help identify gaps quickly support local organizations continue their work during the COVID-19 pandemic. United Way has partnered with the Community Foundation in the granting process:

To further this mission, it was important to us to support organizations during this time of crisis over and above the investments we make in their programming throughout the year by contributing to the Community Foundation of Greater Muscatine’s Community Continuity Fund,” said Shane Orr, Executive Director of United Way.
