MUSCATINE, Iowa – The Community Diaper Bank has been selected as a beneficiary for the month of May in the Hy-Vee Reusable Bag Program that supports local non-profits.

The Hy-Vee Reusable Bag Program, launched in November 2019, is a reusable bag program that facilitates community support with the goal to make a difference in the communities customers live and work in.

The Community Diaper Bank was elected as the May beneficiary of the program by store leadership at our local Muscatine Hy-Vee.  Every time a $2.50 red “My Heart” reusable bag is purchased at a Muscatine Hy-Vee during the month of May, $1 will be donated to the Community Diaper Bank.

Especially in the last year, as families struggled to make ends meet during the COVID-19 pandemic, the mission of the Community Diaper Bank has been more important than ever. Not only does the Community Diaper Bank strive to raise awareness of the diaper need in our community, but it also advocates for families in need and ensures that those families have an adequate supply of diapers.  It is the hope of the Community Diaper Bank that this fundraiser can help us keep an adequate stock of diapers for those who need them most in our community.

If you have any questions about the Community Diaper Bank, or are in need of services, contact Whitney Howell, director of the bank and also director of Early Childhood Iowa – Muscatine County, via email at https://www.communitydiaperbank.com/.
