MUSCATINE, Iowa – The Community Foundation of Greater Muscatine awarded over $490,000 in scholarships this year to area students. Scholarships went to Columbus Junction, Louisa-Muscatine, Muscatine, Wapello, and Wilton High Schools’ graduates and Muscatine Community College students.

“We are so proud of all the 2020 graduates!” Jennifer Conard, Program Administrator, said. “Our scholarship recipients will benefit from the generosity of our donors not only during their college experience, but for their entire lives.”

Scholarship events usually held mid-May moved to online celebrations to honor the students while meeting COVID-19 restrictions for gathering.

The Community Foundation of Greater Muscatine uploaded video ceremonies for Columbus Junction, Louisa-Muscatine, Wapello, Muscatine, and Wilton on its YouTube channel.

“It’s amazing to see all of the generous donors from the community. Being able to watch the videos and know a lot of the namesakes to the scholarships was heartwarming,” said Ellie Howard, Muscatine High School Graduate. “One of my favorite scholarships is the Micaela L. Brunson Memorial Scholarship. She represents everything I want to be, and I am so grateful that I was one of the recipients.”
