Dear Miss Pearl,
I have a problem and I need some advice. All my boyfriend wants to do is play video games. If he’s not at work, he’s at home, in the den, playing XBox. It’s really starting to take a toll on our relationship as he has even bailed out of plans with me because he was supposed to meet his friends, not even in person but online, to play video games. I love him and I don’t want to lose him, but I can’t take much more and need to feel important to him too. What should I do?

Dear Needs More Attention,
Have you tried joining in on the game or finding a video game that the two of you could play together? If video games aren’t your thing, I might suggest that the controller somehow gets “lost” or maybe the “dog” could eat a cord, or if you get desperate, you could stage a robbery (wink wink). On- line relationships can surely be cultivated, but there still needs to be time for people in real-life. If the cyber world is a game you are just not interested in playing, you need to tell him he is definitely pushing the wrong buttons!
