MUSCATINE, Iowa–When Ognadon “Eddy” Djagou, a recent marketing and management graduate, immigrated to the United States from Togo in 2012, he knew he wanted to start a business of his own. Living in the Quad Cities region, Djagou took English as a second language classes through Black Hawk College and worked full time while getting used to his new surroundings. He later moved to Muscatine in 2015 and worked for Allsteel for two years while developing plans for his future business. On Jan. 30, 2017 he opened DJAAGOU A EXPORT. Now, after three years in the community, Djagou has grown his business and incorporated it as DJAAGOU A EXPORT LLC.

As an exporting company, DJAAGOU A EXPORT LLC ships many kinds of goods from the United States by sea to countries around the world. Typically, DJAAGOU A EXPORT LLC can move goods most anywhere in 25 to 60 days, depending on the destination and weather conditions.

Best known for their exporting, DJAAGOU A EXPORT LLC also offers a variety of other services. When Djagou moved to Muscatine, he observed people traveling to the Quad Cities and beyond to purchase international foods and goods not commonly found in the area. Seeing an opportunity, he began providing a selection of global foods and items at DJAAGOU A EXPORT LLC’s headquarters at 1324 East Second Street, Muscatine, in an effort to make them easier to find, especially for immigrants looking for familiar products from their native countries. As he put it, “why not save them the miles?”

After immigrating to the United States himself, Djagou knew first hand the challenges of navigating a new culture and finding the information needed to access local resources and work through the immigration process. In the spirit of helping others, DJAAGOU A EXPORT LLC also provides information to make acclimating to life in the United States and the Muscatine County area easier and less stressful. Along with giving first hand immigration information, DJAAGOU A EXPORT LLC can also help people with printing services, international money transfers, and tax advice.

Reflecting back over the past three years, Djagou feels proud that his business, “continues to serve the community.” He also looks forward to continuing to grow DJAAGOU A EXPORT LLC and using it to help people locally and in places around the world, including Togo, where he has his roots. As DJAAGOU A EXPORT LLC continues to expand, Djagou welcomes investment partners. If you would like to help further DJAAGOU A EXPORT LLC’s activities, you may reach out to them at [email protected] or 563-277-8002.
