MUSCATINE, Iowa–The Muscatine FFA Chapter is currently working hard on upcoming contests. This year, the sub districts contest will be held in Belview. The chapter will be competing in conduct of meetings, FFA Creed, extemporaneous speaking, prepared public speaking, welding, job interview, parliamentary procedure, program of activities (POA), individual ag sales, and radio broadcasting. The contest will take place on Feb. 20. In order to move on to the district competition, held at MHS, we must place in the top two at sub districts.

Jack Zorich is a freshman at MHS and practices for the conduct of meetings contest during his study period, also known as Muskie Time. Jack stated: “this is my first year in FFA and my first competition. I am very excited for the opportunity to participate in the FFA program.” He is trying to become more active in the chapter and enjoys working on contests with his friends. It is important that we welcome and allow the younger members of the chapter to become more involved. By participating in contests, our members improve teamwork, public speaking, and leadership skills.
