Get your country chic on at Urban Farmhouse

As the weather gets colder and I spend more time inside, I love to think about ways to dress up my house. I also enjoy cozying up with a good blanket or spending a little time in a relaxing bath to warm up. Recently, I saw on Facebook that Urban Farmhouse, a home décor and gift shop, is coming to Muscatine this month. I can’t wait to get my fall fix by checking them out once they open!

Though Urban Farmhouse is new to Muscatine, they’ve actually been in the region for a long time and know their stuff when it comes to home goods. Bryce Henderson and his wife first opened in their hometown of Geneseo, Illinois six years ago. Their small town charm and wide selection of quality gifts were an instant success, so much so that they’ve opened the Black Sheep Clothier and the Ugly Duckling to sell women’s clothing and kid stuff respectively. They even opened a second branch of Urban Farmhouse in Moline, Illinois.

Along with helping out with the store, Bryce is the Vice President of Project Development for Bush Construction. While working on remodeling Hershey Lofts in downtown Muscatine, he realized the retail space in the lower level of the building could make a perfect location for another branch of their store. Bryce and his wife also saw it as a great opportunity to get to know and support the local community. Bryce said, “we as a company are really into giving back to the community we’re in.”

Urban Farmhouse is very active on social media and does a great job posting updates and sales on their Facebook, Instagram, and Snapchat accounts. In the coming weeks, they’ll post info about their holiday sales and expanding hours. Right now, they’re planning to start with open hours each Thursday, Friday, and Saturday from 10 a.m. until 5 p.m. and then add more open days from there.

As for me, I can’t wait to get in and check out everything they have. I’ve heard a lot of good things about their Sweet Grace by Bridgewater scented candles and diffusers, perfect for freshening up any room. Did I mention Sweet Grace makes bath bombs too? What a perfect way to unwind after a long day!

With the nights getting colder, I’d like to have a look at their super plush Urban Farmhouse blankets too. They have rave reviews and look like they’d make the perfect addition to my living room.

If you’re as excited as me about this great new business coming to town, you should totally give them a like on Facebook and check out their website too. Let’s give Urban Farmhouse a big Muscatine welcome!
