MUSCATINE, Iowa–The Greater Muscatine Chamber of Commerce and industry (GMCCI) announced the opening of a pop-up shop inside of its office space at 100 West Second Street, Muscatine. The shop features locally made wares and Iowa-themed products.

“The Make it Muscatine pop-up shop is a great place to find those one-of-a-kind gifts for people seeking made in Muscatine merchandise and those celebrating the State of Iowa–from magnets to t-shirts, our pop-up shop has something for everyone,” says Jodi Hansen, Director of Strategic Initiatives.

Examples of featured products include:

  • Annsarts: Folk artist Ann Moody has owned and operated Annsarts for over 25 years. This Iowa native is well-known for hand-crafting art in a variety of media. She has been featured in Better Homes and Gardens, and her popular designs can be found in every state in the Union and in many countries throughout the world. GMCCI features Annsarts pearl button jewelry, tea towels, and hand-painted wooden watermelons.
  • Bozz Prints: Vintage inspired prints and clothing featuring the Midwest and beyond! GMCCI features T-shirts, postcards, coffee mugs, magnets, stickers, and prints from Bozz Prints.
  • Pearl City Candles: Hand poured in Muscatine, Iowa by Flipped Out Furniture, a local Downtown Muscatine business. These candles feature Muscatine inspired scents such as Muskie Melon, Pearl Button, Wildcat Den, Black Pearl, Mother of Pearl, and Pearl Earrings.

The pop-up shop also features copies of, “A Stroll Through Old Muscatine”, a walking tour book of Muscatine’s West Hill
Historic District. The shop also proudly sells full-size Muscatine flags.

Pop-up shops represent short-term, small, flexible establishments retailers can move to different locations. The GMCCI hopes to continue to fill its shelves and stock its shop with unique items.
