TIPTON, Iowa – Jessica Meyer first started Good Makers Market back in 2016 at the beautiful venue, the Barn and Bunker Hill. As a small business owner herself, she knew this was a unique opportunity to highlight local creatives and makers in one place. By the fall of 2017, Good Makers Market had outgrown its original home and moved to the Cedar County Fairgrounds in Tipton. Now hosting her 10th in-person show, this market has grown from 40 vendors to now over 100. Happening every year on Memorial Day and Labor Day, Meyer has loved bringing together makers, merchants, and small businesses alike for one amazing weekend.

“Good Makers Market is my happy place. I’ve met so many amazing creatives over the years selling at other markets around the Midwest, and I thought, why not bring them all together with a little closer to my hometown? When you surround yourself with good people doing awesome things, magic just happens.”

Good Makers Market spring show is May 27 from 3 pm to 8 pm, and May 28 from 9 am to 4 pm. Meyer recommends getting there early because the first 100 shoppers receive a free Good Makers Market swag bag. This is a can’t-miss event with live music, food trucks, and “good people with good goods.” Good Makers Market is a perfect place to shop with local businesses while meeting the actual artisans and makers behind the brands.

“Good Makers Market has something for everyone. Over 130 vendors from around the Midwest. Everything from handmade and vintage to mobile boutiques. Live music sets the whole vibe. Enjoy that while you have a drink from the vintage camper bar. Everyone always raves about our food trucks, there’s even going to be a puppy food truck for your furry family members.  Oh, and we have llamas too! Just good vibes all around.”
