WALCOTT, Iowa–This week, Kerry Gruenhagen filed his official paperwork to run for Iowa Senate District 41.
“Since announcing my campaign for Iowa Senate, I have enjoyed talking to people in our communities about my vision and goals as a senator,” said Gruenhagen: “I appreciate the support I have been given so far and am happy to take this next step towards representing a community I have lived in for many years at the statehouse. I look forward to continuing these conversations across the district and talking with Iowans about the issues impacting them the most, especially issues such as tax relief, economic development in rural Iowa, supporting law enforcement and keeping our communities safe, and protecting our constitutional rights against federal overreach.”
Gruenhagen, a former Muscatine County Farm Bureau president, operates a grain farm with his father and son in rural Scott and Muscatine Counties. He has one son, three stepdaughters, and two grandchildren. He and his wife, Kali, have been married for eight years. They are members of Risen Christ Lutheran Church in Davenport.
Effective in the 2022 elections, Senate District 41 will include Cedar County and parts of Muscatine and Scott counties.
