MUSCATINE, Iowa–The Community Foundation of Greater Muscatine is pleased to announce that the inaugural grant cycle for the Mary Jo & Richard H. Stanley Human Conditions Support Fund will open on Oct.1
Non-profit organizations working at improving human conditions are encouraged to apply.
Mary Jo and Dick’s reach was global. They worked alongside local community leaders in their hometown of Muscatine and diplomats on the world stage, all while maintaining a humility and approachability that few people possess. They were world citizens, committed to understanding and strengthening the lives of local and global neighbors.
$50,000 in grants will be available to support charitable organizations improving human conditions in a variety of ways, including but not limited to:
• Providing basic services.
• Supporting local arts and arts education.
• Supporting education and needs based scholarship opportunities.
• Promoting cultural awareness and acceptance.
• Providing support for the elderly, GLBTQ persons, refugees, immigrants, and/or the homeless.
• Promoting mental and physical health.
• Working to end violence and intolerance.
The generosity of Mary Jo and Dick has had a profound impact on our community, and their legacy will continue to live on in perpetuity.
