MUSCATINE, Iowa – Josiah Anderson, a small business owner and Realtor in Muscatine, announced he will run for the Muscatine City Council Ward 2 seat this November. Ward 2 covers much of downtown Muscatine down to Hershey Av and out to the corner of Logan and Fulliam Sts.
Anderson, a third generation Muscatine resident, started his career in home renovations and has expanded to real estate sales and management. He, his wife, Stephanie, and three children are working together to restore their home at the top of W 2nd St.
“I’ve been blessed to build a life and career in the same community as the majority of my family and extended family. I want to ensure that my kids, and all the kids of Muscatine, have that same opportunity when their time comes. We need to build a strong housing environment, strengthen our schools and bring our community together to ensure they have the same opportunity that I’ve had,” said Anderson.
Anderson will focus on community improvement projects like housing, effective government and community building during his time in office.
Anderson currently serves as Council President of New Era Lutheran Church, President of the Muscatine Landlord Association. He enjoys helping with community events like Almost Friday Fest and past events like Kolors 4 Kids.
