The Kent Precision Foods Group (KPFG) Business After Hours event received a record turnout on Thursday, July 18th. The event, organized in conjunction with the Greater Muscatine Chamber of Commerce and Industry (GMCCI), showcased dozens of products proudly produced by KPFG.
“It was, by far, the largest turnout we have ever had, without a doubt,” said GMCCI President and CEO Greg Jenkins, who estimated 300 people attended. “It was a really cool crowd. Everyone was in great spirits.”
The GMCCI regularly coordinates Business After Hours events as a way for members, as well as the community, to learn about the businesses that make Muscatine great. The event took place on the top floor in the ballroom of the Merrill Hotel and Conference Center, ranked the best hotel in the state of Iowa.
KPFG President Jason Gregory thanked the crowd before speaking about KPFG’s recent move to Muscatine. “We are excited to be in Muscatine and are building a great team of people here,” said Gregory. “The move allows KPFG to collaborate and innovate with the other three Kent Corporation companies based right here in Muscatine, Grain Processing Corporation, Kent Nutrition Group, and Kent Pet Group.”
Maxwell’s at the Merrill Executive Chef Tessa Crookshanks created custom recipes for the event using KPFG products, including Fresno Pepper Jelly with Boursin Cheese on Toasted Pita Point (made with Mrs. Wages Pepper Jelly Kit), Double Chocolate Mousse Shooter with Graham Cracker Crust (made with Foothill Farms Chocolate Mousse and Foothill Farms Graham Cracker Crust Mix), and House Made Triple Berry Compote. “Hopefully you’ve had a chance to try some KPFG products tonight,” said Gregory. “We produce well over 1,000 different SKUs across ten different brands, including quite a bit of custom formulations for National Chain Accounts and other food companies.”
The KPFG sales and marketing teams attended the event to explain, in person, the various products produced by the company. “You just don’t realize how much Kent Corporation is a part of, I still cannot get over it,” said Jenkins. KPFG currently houses its headquarters on the fourth floor of the Laurel Building in historic downtown Muscatine.
