MUSCATINE, Iowa – Lane restrictions will be in place at several locations in Muscatine starting Monday, December 21, 2020, including the intersection of Isett and Lake Park Boulevard, East 2nd Street from Cypress to Brook, and West 8th Street from Iowa Avenue to Linn Street. All traffic restrictions should be cleared by the end of the day on Wednesday, Dec. 23, 2020.

Muscatine Power & Water (MPW) will be working at the intersection of Lake Park Boulevard and Isett Avenue on Monday, December 21, 2020. Northbound and southbound traffic on Isett will not be allowed to turn east onto Lake Park Boulevard while the work is in progress. Westbound traffic on Lake Park Boulevard will be permitted to turn onto Isett.

A detour will be established at the intersection of Isett Avenue and Clay Street for Isett traffic wanting to head east toward Park Avenue. MPW will place the detour signs on Monday.

Muscatine Power & Water will be implementing a two-way traffic pattern on East 2nd Street from Cypress to Brook starting Tuesday, Dec. 22, weather permitting, to facilitate the disconnection of a water service at 1110 East 2nd Street where a water service leak has occurred. MPW plans to disconnect the service and pour back concrete on Tuesday with traffic restored by the end of the day on Wednesday, Dec. 23.

KE Flatworks, Inc., will clean and seal the joints in the driving lanes of West 8th Street from Iowa Avenue to Linn Street starting Monday, December 21, 2020. Parking will be prohibited in the three block section to allow the work to be completed in a timely matter, weather permitting. Drivers are urged to use caution when travelling in this area as lane restrictions may also be place as the work progresses on both sides of the street.

Cleaning the joints will begin Monday and wrap up Tuesday with joint sealing taking over on Tuesday and wrapping up on Wednesday, weather permitting.
