Make it Muscatine: Muscatine Lumber

MUSCATINE, Iowa–At Muscatine Lumber, they take building up the community seriously. Opened in 2016, Muscatine Lumber aims to take care of all the different building and construction needs people throughout Muscatine and surrounding areas have.

In their spacious outdoor lumberyard, Muscatine Lumber stocks a vast selection of wood, drywall, decking, and siding, and can order custom pieces by request. Inside of their one stop hardware shop, they carry a wide selection of Milwaukee power tools, interior and exterior paint, plumbing supplies, nuts and bolts, and other useful home repair and improvement items. For those who need something they cannot find in store, Muscatine Lumber stocks from Do it Best Hardware each Monday and will have their order in by Wednesday of the same week.

If you need something but do not have time to make the trip down to Muscatine Lumber’s physical location at 1700 Grandview Avenue, Muscatine, they will gladly deliver within city limits at no cost. Those living outside of Muscatine can also have their purchases delivered for a small additional fee.

The staff of Muscatine Lumber welcomes you to come see what they have to offer. Left to right: Carolann Yerington, Morgan Neipert, Griffin Mears, Joe Yerington, and Clayton Yerington.

Though Muscatine Lumber may have a large selection of products, what drives their employees is the chance to savor Muscatine’s small town feel and get to help local customers build their dreams into realities. “What I enjoy most about working at Muscatine Lumber, is being in a small town, we are getting to know the faces that come into the store,” remarked Morgan Neipert. “We really enjoy getting to know our customers and providing excellent customer service on a more personal basis.”

As Muscatine Lumber works to continue establishing itself as Muscatine County’s go to lumberyard and home improvement store, they partnered with the Greater Muscatine Chamber of Commerce and Industry. They have found this new relationship extremely helpful, as it has allowed them to share their business’ story and expertise with more people than ever before. Neipert elaborated, “The Chamber has been helpful in keeping us up-to-date on events and opportunities going on around us that can help to not only get involved directly with the community, but to get the community involved with us.”

As a small business that focuses on helping people get the tools and supplies they need for building and renovation projects of all sizes, everyone at Muscatine Lumber takes pride in literally helping to renovate and improve Muscatine and Muscatine County. “Rebuilding or remodeling is one of the best ways to invest back for not only yourself but to make your community a better place,” shared Neipert. “Muscatine is a great town if you chose to see all of the good and while we’re growing, it still offers the same small-town feel.”
