2020-21 Bell Schedules

  • LifeTouch Pictures Have Arrived!  Students that ordered/paid for pictures from Lifetouch Picture Day on  Sept. 29th can pick them up in Student Services before school, passing time, lunch time, or after school until 3:45pm.  Reminder that Picture Retake Day is on Nov 10th!
  • LifeTouch Pictures: If you had your picture taken but did NOT order/pay, the PROOFS are available to pick up at your convenience in front of the Principal’s office.  They are by grade in alphabetical order. If you would like to order pictures, please follow the instructions on the proof sheet.
  • Make-up Picture Day will be on November 10th for ALL students – Virtual & Hybrid starting at 7AM in the MHS Main Gym. (If this is not your scheduled day to attend, you can still come in and get your picture taken.) Please enter through the Swim entrance across from Bonnie St. parking lot if entering the building prior to 7:45AM. Please enter through the Main Entrance if entering the after 8:30AM.  Pictures can be ordered online at mylifetouch.com using Picture Day ID: EVT73QW2J.

  • University of Iowa is holding a virtual visit on Nov. 5th during Muskie Time. If you would like to attend the virtual visit, please let Allie Meineke and/or Kris Meeker in Student Services know or email us at [email protected] or [email protected].
  • 2020 Minority Student Medical Virtual Career Fair: Friday, Nov. 20, 2020 11 a.m.-4 p.m.  This is for any students interested in medical careers and is open to high school and community college students.  The University of Iowa Carver College of Medicine will be participating in this fair.

  • DUE NOV. 5th! Senior Boys: It is that time of year to sign up to participate in our charity Mr. Muscatine Pageant! This is a great way to interact with your student body and raise money for Student Council’s annual Hunger Drive!  Please print out the form (or pick up  the form at the Attendance Center), fill out, and return to Ms. Heimerdinger (room 11-028) NO LATER THAN THURSDAY, NOVEMBER 5TH by the end of the day, if you wish to participate.   • FAFSA ASSISTANCE – SIGN UP TODAY! On Thursday, November 5th, ICAN will provide virtual appointments to help senior families complete their FAFSA. Appointments can be made by using this link MHS Virtual FAFSA Completion Night.  Scroll down to the Muscatine High School Event scheduled for November 5th and click to choose an appointment time between 4:00-9:00 pm.   • Nov. 5th @ 4pm! CANBALL Spectators: Spectators can attend the CANBALL competition on Thursday, November 5th starting at 4:00 PM in the MHS Gym and will need to have face coverings and practice social distancing. Admission at the door is $3 or 5 canned goods. All proceeds will go to MCSA.

  • MHS Drama Department will present the comedy “Leaving Iowa” at 7 pm on November 6th & 7th, 2020.  At once hilarious and heartwarming, Leaving Iowa is a  wild journey down memory lane: the family road trip has never been so much fun.  There will be (limited) in person seating available in the Auditorium, as well as an option to live-stream the show at home!  All tickets and streaming passes must be purchased in advance from our new online box office: muscatinehs.booktix.com.
    If you have an activity or staff pass that you would like to use (valid only for in-person seating, not streaming passes) you must complete an order form:  Activity Pass Order 
  • Muscatine FFA Weekly – Nov. 2-8, 2020: FFA Weekly
  • Muskies: If you participated in Boys’ or Girls’ Cross Country or Boys’ Golf, please complete the Participant Student Input Survey, if you did not already do so. You had previously received an email with the link in it from Mr. Ulses. If you can not find the email, please email Mr. Ulses at [email protected] the link will be sent to you. Volleyball players, football players and cheerleaders: you will receive an email with the link soon. Swimmers, you will receive an email with the link after your season is done.   • REMINDER! FREE MEALS for all kids all kids 18 (older when enrolled in school) and under.
    (USDA announced that they would be extending the Summer Food Service Program (SFSP)). We will also provide a pick-up site at Central for parents, guardians or a designee (such as an older sibling) to pick up meals for multiple days for those not attending school in person, too young to attend school and weekend meals.
  • MCC Spring Semester Schedule: The Class Schedule for Spring 2021 at Muscatine Community College is now available. If you would like to discuss courses for second semester, please stop in Student Services to schedule an appointment with Mrs. Hawkins or email [email protected] or [email protected] to schedule a Google Meet.
  • REMINDER: Students need to log in by 9am in order to be counted Present for the day.  If you log in after 9am, an automated call will go out to your parent/guardian that you are Not Present.  In order to get this cleared, a parent/guardian must contact MHS Attendance at 563-263-6616 to excuse your absence.
  • ACT Academy Test Prep: All students have free access to the ACT Academy test prep online. The link below includes the instructions for log in whether you have or have not logged in in the past. Please contact Mrs. Hawkins with any questions.  ACT Academy Test Prep

** Sports Information/Athletic Forms **

  • Wrestling Team Meeting: There will be a wrestling team meeting on Thursday, November 5th at 3:45pm in the Wrestling Room.  All students interested in joining the team need to attend. Contact Coach Kane with questions at [email protected]

  • BBB/BBB PARENT MEETING: The Girls Basketball and Boys Basketball Player/Parent Meeting will be held next Thursday, November 5th at 7:00 PM in the MHS Main Gym. It is important that both parents AND players attend! Please report to the main gym for the first part of the meeting. We will then split into Girls’ Basketball and Boys’ Basketball sections.
  • Girls’ Basketball: “It’s almost basketball season! Muskie Girls’ Basketball will start official practice on Monday, November 9th at 3:45 PM in the Main Gym at MHS. Please make sure you have your physical and paperwork complete. Also, plan to attend the Girls Basketball Player/Parent Meeting on Thursday, November 5th at 7:00 PM in the Main Gym at MHS. If you have any questions, please contact Coach Orvis, Ms. Hansen, or Mr. Lopez. Let’s GO!”
  • MHS Girls’ Softball Parent/Player Meeting: There will be a Parent/ Player Meeting on Nov. 8 from 5 – 6:30pm in the MHS Commons for anyone in grades 8 – 12 that is planning on playing high school softball. If you have any questions, please contact Coach Hopkins at [email protected]

** Yearbook Information **

  • DUE NOV. 13th, 2020! Senior Pictures for the Yearbook
    Senior pictures will only be accepted by submitting them to the
    Josten’s website
    If your photographer wants to submit your picture for you, it is up to you to talk to the photographer and tell them the process. Photos received after this date cannot be guaranteed a place in the Yearbook. If a senior picture is not provided, the school picture will be used.

  • FINAL DATE TO ORDER IS FEB. 25, 2021! 2020-21 Yearbooks Orders:  $56 per yearbook. Payment can be made at the MHS Attendance Center, online using InTouch, or by mail. Complete details: 2020-21 Yearbook Order Details
  • 2019-20 Yearbooks: If you purchased a 2019-20 yearbook, you can pick it up at the Attendance Center.
  • Did you or someone you know attend Muscatine High School during the 2012 through 2015 school years? If so, this is your chance to purchase a yearbook that reflects those school years and memories! Each yearbook is $20 until sold out. All proceeds go back into the Yearbook Club to purchase new equipment and expand the program for students. To purchase, call the Activities Office at Muscatine High School at (563) 263-6141 and ask for Mindy.

  • Vehicle Registration Form/Parking Tags: If you are a new driver to MHS and do not have an MHS Parking Tag, you will need to pick up & complete a Vehicle Registration Form. Stop in Student Services during the first week of school to pick up the form or print out and return completed Vehicle Registration Form during the first week of school.  Students that have a parking tag from last year will continue to use that parking tag. If you no longer have the parking tag, please stop in the Student Services office.

** Silver Cord Opportunities/Volunteer Opportunities **

  • The Food & Nutrition Department is providing a free meal pick up service at Central Middle School on Wednesday, Thursday & Friday for families in our community. We need help packing meals and carrying boxes and bags to cars.  Please email [email protected] for details.
  • Silver Cord Program:  Students recording hours of volunteer service during their years at MHS will be awarded a Silver Cord to wear at graduation. In order for volunteer hours to count towards a Silver Cord, students must complete the online form to verify. Silver Cord Form
    Service qualifies for Silver Cord recognition if:

    • The student is not paid for the service
    • The student does not receive credit for the service.
    • The service is not for the purpose of fundraising for a group/activity/team that the student participates in.
      *140 hours are required for students in the Class of 2021, 2022 and 2023.
      *160 hours are required for students graduating in the Class of 2024.

  • 2nd Annual Muscatine High School Baseball Mattress Fundraiser: The Muscatine High School Baseball Program is excited to announce they will be hosting a one-day Mattress event on Saturday, November 21st, from 10am – 5pm in the VanHecke Center. There will be 30+ different styles of beds on display for customers to try.  The brand name mattresses are made to order, have full factory warranties, are available in all sizes, and are priced below retail.  In addition to beds, there will also be luxury pillows, sheets and even adjustable power bases!! Delivery and financing are available.
