2020-21 Bell Schedules

  • Students: Football Playoff Game Day Tickets at Bettendorf on Friday: Due to COVID 19 precautions, we have been allocated 200 Game Day tickets for our playoff game at Bettendorf on Friday. 156 of those tickets have been allocated to our football team and cheerleaders. The remaining 44 tickets will be allocated to our Students. Please complete the Google form that Mr. Ulses emailed to have an opportunity to receive a ticket. The Google form will close at 10am on Wed. and students will be notified on Wed.
  • Student Parking Tags: If you turned in a Vehicle Registration Form and did not receive a Parking Tag, please stop in the Student Services office — the parking tags have arrived!
  • Any freshmen boys interested in trying out for basketball this winter, please contact Coach Windham, john.windham@mcsdonline.org or stop by Room 23-007 in the Business/Foreign Language wing.
  • TODAY DURING MUSKIE TIME! The Gay/Straight Alliance will be meeting Monday, October 19th during Muskie Time in Ms. Cromer’s room 22-013.  Come ready to make posters and eat snacks. Hope you can make it!

  • New Silver Cord Opportunity: Join us in distributing USDA Food Boxes to our community!
    • What: Helping load, deliver, and/or distribute food to those in need
    • When: Saturday, October 24th
    • 8am-10am unloading/loading food
    • 10am-1pm delivering and distributing locally
    • 1pm-4pm distributing to community on-site
    • Where: Crossroads, 1424 Houser St., Muscatine

  • MHS Parent Teacher Conferences: This year the Muscatine High School will be doing fall Parent-Teacher conferences virtually through google meets on:
    • Monday, Oct. 19 from 4-7pm
    • Wed., Oct. 21 from 4-7pm
    • Thurs., Oct. 22 from 1:45-3:45pm

We have developed a site where you will be able to click on the name of the teacher and select a date and time to conference with that teacher. Once you have confirmed your meeting, you will receive a Google Meet link that will be used at the time of the conference. If you prefer an in-person meeting, a form is available on the website for you to fill out and we will be in contact with you in regards to those.   • DUE DATE IS OCT. 20th! 10th Grade Students/Families: Jostens has mailed home a Class Ring Design Packet to each 10th grade student. Orders are due online or by dropping off completed order forms to the MHS Student Services office by October 20th.  Don’t miss out on the tradition or on your free gift with purchase.   • DUE DATE IS OCT. 20th! 12th Grade Students:  Jostens has mailed home a Graduation Packet to each 12th grade student.   • MHS Fall Fest! Friday, October 30th from 6:00-9:00pm at MHS. We will have a Carnival Games (to win raffle tickets to enter into a raffle), Fall Food for sale, pumpkin painting, and a haunted hallway! Some prizes include a HON chair, free coffee for a year from The Black Pearl, a Guadalajara gift card, and much more!! It is $10 at the door to receive a wristband which lets students participate in all activities. Students must be masked throughout the entire event, follow signs for one way traffic, and must present their MHS ID at the door.  MHS Fall Fest Info

  • Winter Cheerleading Tryouts: Tryouts for winter cheerleading will be held on November 7th. Tryout packets can be picked up at the Attendance Office. 
  • Muskie Volleyball Regional vs. Dav. West will take place on Thursday, Oct. 22 starting at 7pm. No game day ticket is needed.  No passes will be accepted with it being a Regional competition. Admission is $6.
  • Make-up Picture Day will be on November 10th for all students (Virtual & Hybrid) starting at 7AM in the MHS Gym. (If this is not your scheduled day to attend, you can still come in and get your picture taken.) Lifetouch Order Form

  • On Thursday, November 5th, ICAN will provide virtual appointments to help senior families complete their FAFSA. Appointments can be made by using this link MHS Virtual FAFSA Completion Night.  Scroll down to the Muscatine High School Event scheduled for November 5th and click to choose an appointment time between 4:00-9:00 pm. Please see or contact Mrs. Hawkins (karey.hawkins@mcsdonline.org) in Student Services with questions.
  • DUE DATE IS NOV. 13th! Senior Pictures Submissions for the Yearbook – Due Friday, November 13th, 2020
    Senior pictures will only be accepted by submitting them to the Josten’s website.
    If your photographer wants to submit your picture for you, it is up to you to talk to the photographer and tell them the process. Photos received after this date cannot be guaranteed a place in the Yearbook. If a senior picture is not provided, the school picture will be used.

  • Silver Cord Opportunity: The Food & Nutrition Department is providing a free meal pick up service at Central Middle School on Wednesday, Thursday & Friday for families in our community. We need help packing meals and carrying boxes and bags to cars.  Please email schoolmeals@mcsdonline.org for details.
  • Carnival After Prom Extravaganza (CAPE) Committee Chairs/Co-Chairs Needed: We are looking for several parents to fill out our CAPE Committee for this year. Being on the committee requires a commitment of a few meetings, usually in the winter/spring, the day and night of prom, and some extra hours of work on your own getting community support, advertising, shopping for prizes, etc. There are past and present committee members who will help train anyone new, so you are not on your own! You can also recruit friends to help with your area. We have an urgent need for committee chairs this year.  Once again, if we don’t have parent volunteers, our students won’t have CAPE!

  • REMINDER: Students need to log in by 9am in order to be counted Present for the day.  If you log in after 9am, an automated call will go out to your parent/guardian that you are Not Present.  In order to get this cleared, a parent/guardian must contact MHS Attendance at 563-263-6616 to excuse your absence.
  • Seniors:  If you haven’t registered to vote, here is a resource for you to register online. Note: You must be 18 years of age by Nov. 3, 2020 in order to register and vote in the Nov. 3rd election. Visit: https://sos.iowa.gov/elections/voterinformation/voterregistration.html  (look for the “box” for Online Voter Registration).  Simply follow the steps to get registered to vote.  If you have any questions, please contact Mr. Acord in Rm 11-030.

  • 2019-20 Yearbooks: If you purchased a 2019-20 yearbook, you can pick it up at the Attendance Center.
  • Did you or someone you know attend Muscatine High School during the 2012 through 2015 school years? If so, this is your chance to purchase a yearbook that reflects those school years and memories! Each yearbook is $20 until sold out. All proceeds go back into the Yearbook Club to purchase new equipment and expand the program for students. To purchase, call the Activities Office at Muscatine High School at (563) 263-6141 and ask for Mindy.

  • Vehicle Registration Form/Parking Tags: If you are a new driver to MHS and do not have an MHS Parking Tag, you will need to pick up & complete a Vehicle Registration Form. Stop in Student Services during the first week of school to pick up the form or print out and return completed Vehicle Registration Form during the first week of school.  Students that have a parking tag from last year will continue to use that parking tag. If you no longer have the parking tag, please stop in the Student Services office.

  • Silver Cord Program:  Students recording hours of volunteer service during their years at MHS will be awarded a Silver Cord to wear at graduation. In order for volunteer hours to count towards a Silver Cord, students must complete the online form to verify. Silver Cord Form
    Service qualifies for Silver Cord recognition if:

    • The student is not paid for the service
    • The student does not receive credit for the service.
    • The service is not for the purpose of fundraising for a group/activity/team that the student participates in.
      *140 hours are required for students in the Class of 2021, 2022 and 2023.
      *160 hours are required for students graduating in the Class of 2024.
