In just one month’s time, Almost Friday Fest (AFF) has grown into an event of epic proportions. With approximately 1,000 residents attending, this festival quickly grew into one of Muscatine’s most popular events.
With its winning combination of entertainment for all ages, AFF has all the components it needs to thrive. On Thursday, July 25th, the band, Crazy Delicious from Cedar Rapids, set the mood with an energizing blend of feel good songs from every era. Fresh food and drinks from Boonies, Butcher’s Vegetables, Chicharo’s Tequila Bar, Hy-Vee, and the Missipi Brew kept everyone full and happy. Bounce houses and lawn games, including a new jumbo Kerplunk game, kept families and friends entertained all evening long. Several local charitable groups, including the American Cancer Society, Muscatine County Big Brothers Big Sisters, and the Muscatine Community Y also made appearances, using AFF as a perfect venue to get the word out about some of their upcoming events.
At the end of the night, those who turned out felt glad they came. Rebecca Flicher, a volunteer from Young Professionals Network shared, “I’m excited that we have things like this happening. . . . . .. [AFF] really helps showcase what we have here.”
