Muscatine Community College extends closure

MUSCATINE, Iowa—Muscatine Community College (MCC) announced today it has extended the period for online class delivery through the end of the semester.

All MCC buildings will remain closed through at least April 30. MCC canceled commencement ceremonies scheduled for mid-May.

Eastern Iowa Community Colleges Chancellor Don Doucette said the College continues its commitment to the success of all its students and in ensuring they successfully reach their goals. The college’s faculty has reflected that commitment, providing quality content in their courses while adapting to these changing circumstances. “We realize this has been a difficult time for students and their families,” said Doucette. “On behalf of the EICC community, we extend our best hopes and wishes to all our students.”

From the beginning of this crisis, MCC prioritized the health, safety, and success of its students as the top priority and followed guidance from state and federal officials. The College will reach out to graduating students to determine an alternative method for celebrating their success.
