Muscatine Living

MUSCATINE, Iowa–Muscatine County Treasurer, Amy Zybarth would like to introduce the latest specialty plate, released Monday Sept. 14. The red, white, and blue plate, “Flying our Colors,” will cost $35 for standard numbered or $60 for personalized, ordered online through the state. Last July, the state made the Black Out plate available and it now ranks as the most popular plate to date. The additional fees collected for these specialty plates support particular funds; Blackout fees go to Iowa road use and Flying our Colors will go towards Iowa flood mitigation. After the initial fee, the standard numbered plates cost an additional $10 and the personalized plates an addition $15 at their renewal each year.

To see all the plates available in Iowa, please visit the Iowa Department of Transportation website. The new plates will go to your county treasurer, who will notify you to come in and pick them up, usually within three to six weeks.
