MUSCATINE, Iowa–The Muscatine County Treasurer, Amy Zybarth, would like to thank Muscatine County residents for their cooperation during this difficult time that the treasurer’s office has been closed to the public. Zybarth reports many completed transactions by mail, online, or through the drop box, whether it was tax or motor vehicle, some as easy as a renewal or payment, others as involved as personalized plates, transferring, or purchasing new vehicles. As she put it, “regardless, we’ve proven that it can be done and appreciate your willingness to follow instructions.”

Effective Monday June 15, the treasurer’s office will open by appointment only; at this time, anyone with more complicated transactions they could not do remotely may come in for assistance. Please contact the county treasurer’s office by phone at 563-263-6764 or email [email protected] to schedule a time to come in. Zybarth encourages everyone else to continue doing things by mail, online, or drop box. Her office has made applications for titles (form 411007) available in the supply box next to the drop box in front of the building and online at under MV forms.

The doors to the treasurer’s office will remain locked; if you have made an appointment, Zybarth requests you practice social distancing as much as possible and limit the number of people per transaction. If you are simply making a tax payment or renewing your registration stickers, please use the drop box outside. Currently, the treasurer’s office processes those items hourly and mail receipts and stickers the same day when possible. “Again, we appreciate your patience and understanding during this time,” emphasized Zybarth.
