MUSCATINE, Iowa– The Muscatine Community School District’s Board of Education announced the selection of three candidates to interview for their superintendent vacancy. They will interview the following candidates:
- Mr. Clint Christopher, current superintendent for Eastern Carver County School Distric 112 in Chaska, Minnesota
- Dr. Candace Steel, current elementary principal at Jefferson Elementary, Muscatine Iowa
- Mr. Shane Williams, current Director of Educational Services with Mississippi Bend Area Education Agency
Interviews will take place the week of Jan. 20. Numerous stakeholder groups will have the opportunity to meet the final candidates and submit input to the Board about each of them. The Board intends to make its selection by Jan. 22.
Muscatine Community School District retained the services of McPherson & Jacobson, L.L.C. to assist in conducting their search. The consultants reviewed, screened, and conducted extensive background checks on 21 applicants. On Dec. 16, 2019, the consultants presented the applicants to the Board of Education and provided them detailed background information on each applicant. The Board selected these three finalists from a group of six
semi-finalists.
