MNFC Book Club: Against All Odds by Irene Hannon
February 22, 2021 @ 6:30 pm - 9:30 pm
Please bring your favorite winter appetizers, side dishes, or dessert to share. Betty is making the main course!
The purpose of the MNFC Book Club is to read literature while making new friends! So, if you love books and you are ready to discuss them, you are in the right place! Come even if you have not read the book. Not everyone can finish every book, and non-readers can still have valuable insights.
• The MNFC Book Club meets the last Monday of the month at 6:30pm. Each month, one of the Book Club members is selected to choose a book and a location for the month’s meeting. The member-of-the-month may choose to host in her home with or without a potluck theme or in a local restaurant where each member pays for her own dinner. The restaurant must be open until 10:00pm (a list of these restaurants will be provided at a later date).
• The book must be available on audio/CD from the Musser Public Library. Once a non-fiction book has been read, six (6) months must pass before another non-fiction book is selected. If the book is part of a series, the book must be the first in the series.
• You may find that you disagree with something that another member of the group has said. It is okay to disagree as long as it is done respectfully. You might need to agree to disagree. Be gracious! There is never any one way to experience or interpret a book. In fact, differing opinions make the best discussions. Just do not get overheated or take comments personally.
• Inappropriate behavior and/or language will not be tolerated. Please respect the authority of the moderator. Please keep on topic, but feel free to introduce information that is relevant to the discussion such as book background, historical facts, and related topics.
