The Community Foundation of Greater Muscatine (CFGM) distributed various books, office supplies, toiletries, cleaning supplies, and other items to local non-profits for their use though the National Association for the Exchange of Industrial Resources (NAEIR) program. The value of the merchandise distributed totaled over $11,000.

NAEIR supports communities by collecting merchandise donations from generous corporations such as 3M, Rubbermaid, and PaperMate, and gives this surplus to schools and nonprofit organizations. NAEIR donates the supplies with the intent that recipients use them for a charitable purpose, such as serving the needy, children, the elderly, and the ill.

CBI Bank & Trust has generously sponsored the NAEIR program for Muscatine, offsetting much of the costs associated with this opportunity, making the supplies free to participating non-profits. “Year after year, we’ve been proud to provide the funding to make NAEIR happen here in Muscatine,” said Jon Moravec, Vice President of Marketing at CBI Bank & Trust. “But the real success story is the way area non-profits, schools, and other organizations are able to put the NAEIR supplies to work for the betterment of the Muscatine area, plus the ongoing efforts of the [CFGM] in administering the program.”

The CFGM has organized and brought the NAEIR program to the Muscatine community since 2004. This year, Muscatine Community School District (MCSD) hosted the distribution at their board office.
