MUSCATINE, Iowa – The elves in the Muscatine Parks and Recreation office have been busy creating new activities that will bring smiles to the faces of the young and the young at heart from one to ninety-two.

Just give the Muscatine Parks and Recreation Department a call and we can turn that frown upside down with two great programs this December.

Sending Extra Holiday Cheer

Do you know a senior who could use some extra holiday cheer? Muscatine Parks and Recreation staff will send two heartfelt letters to your favorite elder through the “Sending Love to Seniors” program.

Registration is easy. You can nominate your elder any time before December 30 by registering online or by calling the Parks and Recreation Department office at (563) 236-0241to sign up over the phone. Nominating your elder is free but donations toward this program will be accepted.

Snail Mail Club Delivers Fun

The Snail Mail Club is a monthly subscription appropriate for children in grades K-5 or younger with the help of their favorite adult. Packages filled with exciting craft supplies, paper activities, puzzles and more are sent directly to your home for your child to enjoy.

Each package is filled with so much fun that your children will be checking the mailbox daily in anticipation for their next packet stuffed full with entertainment galore. There is a monthly activity registration with a fee of $5.00 per package. Register your child for this December’s packet before December 14 by calling the Parks and Recreation Department office at (563) 263-0241 or by going online.

For more information on these or other programs, please contact the Muscatine Parks and Recreation Department at (563) 263-0241 for more information.
