Barbara Nadine Plett, age 87, of Wilton, Iowa, passed away Sunday, October 16, 2022, at Lutheran Living in Muscatine, Iowa. A graveside memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m., Thursday, October 20, 2022 at Blue Grass Cemetery, Blue Grass, Iowa. Memorials may be directed to St. Croix Hospice in her memory. Online condolences may be left at www.bentleyfuneralhome.com.
Barbara was born in Muscatine, Iowa on March 29, 1935, the daughter of James and Florence (Burzell) Blake. She married Alvin F. Plett on April 4, 1959 in Muscatine. Alvin preceded her death on January 1, 2006.
Barb was a homemaker who loved taking care of her family. While raising her family, Barb worked as a Dietary Aide for Muscatine General Hospital for many years. She was a member of Sugar Creek Presbyterian Church in Wilton. Barb was always there for her family and friends in their time of need. She enjoyed sewing, creating crafts, taking long walks, and traveling to visit her children. Most of all, Barb loved spending time with her family.   Â
Barb will be lovingly remembered by her two surviving children, Bambi Beaird of Muscatine and Brian (Lesa) Plett of Little Elm, Texas; five grandchildren, Kindra Plett, Caitlin Beaird, John Beaird, Emilee Plett and Kaycee Plett; one great granddaughter, Rylan; one daughter-in-law, Janell Plett of Bettendorf; and three sisters, Judy (John) Doak of Muscatine, Phyllis (Robert) Jerrel of Mystic, Iowa, and Rosemary Bowstead of Muscatine.
Barb was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Alvin; one son, Bruce Plett; one sister, Emily Vogt; and one son-in-law, Jack Beaird.
