MUSCATINE, Iowa – Daryl K. Kempf, 96, of Muscatine passed away on Wednesday, January 25, 2023, at the Clarissa C. Cook Hospice House in Bettendorf.

He was born on February 28, 1926, in Muscatine the son of Charles Kempf and Kathryn (Schatzle) Kempf. He married Donna Kincaid on August 7, 1948. He was an Army Veteran and served in the 10th Mountain Division in Italy during WWII. He also served in the National Guard after WWII was over.

Daryl was a career watchmaker and enjoyed repairing all types of antique clocks in his spare time. He also enjoyed oil painting and favored the subjects of boats, ships and landscapes. He was a member of Artists in Action for many years.

Daryl is survived by two daughters, Kandi Kwirant of Muscatine and Cheryl Day of Minneapolis, MN. He has five grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.

He is preceded in death by his wife, Donna, his parents and his brothers Don and Paul.

Services will be held Monday, January 30, 2023, at the Ralph J. Wittich-Riley-Freers Funeral Home. Visitation will be from 10 am to 11:30 am with the funeral service following visitation.
