Donn Thompson, 71, of Muscatine, passed away on Friday, June 2, 2023 at the University of Iowa Hospital. A memorial visitation will be held on Friday, June 9, 2023 from 4:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m. at the Snyder and Hollenbaugh Funeral and Cremation Services of Muscatine. Donn Russell Thompson was born November 22, 1951 in Marshfield, Wisconsin, the son of Maurice Thomas and Delores Johanna (Barr) Thompson. He graduated from Tomahawk High School and attended the University of Wisconsin-Superior. Donn married Stephane Stringe on June 21, 1975 in Cable, WI. They later divorced. Donn was united in marriage to Deborah McCormick on August 16, 1989 in Muscatine.

Donn relocated to Iowa in 1976. He worked various jobs in landscaping, construction and sales and financing of vehicles. He also worked in maintenance, most recently for H.J. Heinz. He was an avid Green Bay Packers and Wisconsin Badgers fan and enjoyed hunting, fishing and the outdoors. He loved to spend time with his beloved dog, Millie and cherished time spent with his family, especially his grandchildren.

Donn will be deeply missed by his wife, Deb Thompson of Muscatine; son, Josh (Kara) Thompson of Pleasantville; son, Matt Thompson of Bettendorf; and honorary daughter, Amanda Armstrong of Muscatine; grandchildren: Hailey, Kyley, Ty, Lainey, McKenzie, Lucas and Nathan; siblings: Dave (Joan) Thompson of Schofield, WI; Dennis (Sue) Thompson of Tomahawk, WI; and Renee (Tim) Krogman of Stevens Point, WI; and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, step-son, Will Wingerter; and brothers: Danny and Dick Thompson.
