Frances Lucille “Fran” Boyd, 85, of Muscatine, passed away Thursday, January 26, 2023 at her son, Steven’s home. Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Monday, January 30, 2023 at the Snyder & Hollenbaugh Funeral & Cremation Services of Muscatine, where the family will receive friends from 11:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m.  A private burial will be in Greenwood Cemetery.  A memorial has been established for the ASPCA in Fran’s memory. Fran was born July 26, 1937 in Muscatine, Iowa, the daughter of Fred E. and Ada L. (Logel) Reed. She was united in marriage to Jackie Lew Boyd on July 11, 1954 at the Fort George Wright Air Force Base in Spokane, Washington.

Fran worked in sales at JC Penny’s for 28 years. She attended Mulford Evangelical Free Church in her younger years and Hillcrest Baptist Church later in life.

Fran will be deeply missed by her children: Steven C. (Deb) Boyd of Muscatine; Tonya L. (Keith) Greenhaw of Muscatine; Kevin E. “Jake” (Diane) Boyd of Elvira; Penny L. Conley of AK; and Sondra R. “Sunni” Boyd of Muscatine; 14 grandchildren; 28 great-grandchildren; 12 great-great-grandchildren; brother, Edward C. “Skip” (Beverly) Reed of Tipton; and sister, Betty L. (Ted) Zieman of CO; and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband in 2012; grandson, Ryan Bierman; granddaughter, Heather Boyd; sister, Mary; and brother, Fred Jr. “Wimpy.”
