MUSCATINE, Iowa – Ronald Leroy Hein, 84, of Muscatine, passed away on Wednesday, September 28, 2022, at home.

Funeral service will be at 10:30 a.m. on Monday, November 7, 2022 at the Ralph J. Wittich-Riley-Freers Funeral Home. Burial will follow the service at Memorial Park Cemetery. Online condolences may be made at www.wittichfuneralhome.com.

Ronald was born on February 5, 1938, in Muscatine, the son of Delbert G. and Helen M. Curry Hein. He married Sharon Sommers, having three sons together, Mitch, Jamie, and Dan. They later divorced.

He worked as a general contractor and in the HVAC trade, always known for his strong work ethic. He was also a licensed pilot. He was always on the go, not letting any obstacle get in his way, not even those pesky safety rules. He enjoyed his travels through Mexico, Alaska, and Arizona, and his time as grandpa was really special to him.

Those left to honor his memory include his sons Mitch Hein of Minneapolis, Minnesota, James ‘Jamie’ Hein of Letts, and Dan Hein of Olathe, Kansas; grandchildren Nick, Quintin, Aleyna, and Makenna Hein; siblings Robert G. Hein, Carol Jean Shephard, and Bonnie Lou Christensen.

He was preceded in death by his parents in 2002.
