Terry, affectionately known as T-Dub, was born October 21st 1954 to Herb and Phyllis (Sprouse) SyWassink of Muscatine. Terry graduated from Muscatine High School in 1972 and later from Muscatine Community College. He married his wife Sherri on July 26th, 2008.

He was involved in 4H, glee club, basketball, cross country, baseball, and softball league when he was younger. He farmed with his Dad for many years, and delivered rural mail. Over the years he worked for Heinz, Starkist, Bandag plant 2 until it closed and Hon Oak Steel.

Terry was an avid Milwaukee Brewer and Iowa Hawkeye fan. He loved going to concerts, ball games, basketball games or whatever it was his kids or grandkids were involved in. Aside from sports, Terry had a strong opinion about his political views and was willing to debate with anyone. He was known by many for his sarcasm, quick wit, and endless supply of dad jokes. If you spent enough time with him you would have gained a sophisticated self-made philosophy and sayings referred to as “Terryisms”. He was always willing and enjoyed helping with homework with surprisingly accurate information. Most of all, above anything else, he loved and had a deep pride in his family.

Terry is survived by his loving wife, Sherri; Mom, Phyllis; Children, Allison SyWassink (Jim), Erika Perales (Oscar), Tiffany Curtis (Tony), Seth SyWassink (Crystal), Chase SyWassink (Jessica), Zach SyWassink (Courtney), and Ashley Smith (Ryan); Grandkids, Elexa (Brian), Olivia, Luca, Alexander, Madyson, Simon, Mya, Eden, Izach, Charleigh, Kaden, Karson, Elyse, Mercedes, Madi, and Jay; Great Grandkids, Eliana, Zekie Wayne and a 3rd on the way; Grand pups, Archie, Callie, Watson, Mari, Tucker, and Briggs; Siblings, Rick SyWassink, Jeff Sywassink (Ramona), and Diane Allen (Bill); and many nieces, nephews, and cousins.

He was preceded in death by his Dad, Herb; and his dogs, Chloe and Keno.
