MUSCATINE, Iowa – The Muscatine City Council will conduct a public hearing on Muscatine Municipal Airport hangar leases when they meet for the final time in 2020 with a virtual regular session Thursday.

The Muscatine City Council Regular meeting will begin at 7 p.m. Thursday, December 70, with information on joining the virtual session listed below. The session will also be broadcast live on the City of Muscatine YouTube channel and will also be shown live on Muscatine Power & Water Cable Channel 2.

The City of Muscatine recently completed construction of three box hangars at the Muscatine Municipal Airport with two of the proposed lessees requesting longer lease terms, and that requires the Council to conduct a public hearing before approving the longer terms. Both of the lessees plan to invest significant personal resources to install heating systems in the hangars and have asked for the longer leases. Iowa law requires a public hearing to be held for proposals to lease property for more than 12 months.
