Now in its third go around, Almost Friday Fest (AFF) continues drawing Muscatine residents to the riverfront for some end of the week fun. With some exciting new additions, AFF promises to keep bringing the community together.

Though previous attendees have raved about the bands that have played AFF before, this month’s band, After Shock, stole the show. An Eighties tribute band, everyone from teenagers to seniors enjoyed jamming to classic tunes from Bon Jovi, Journey, and others.

An event perfect for kids, families who visited AFF found even more games to enjoy than before. Along with giant versions of beloved games such as KerPlunk, youngsters could also enjoy Plinko, ring toss, a putting green, a Frisbee golf course, and balloon tying. As Justin Kerr, an AFF goer who brought his three children put it, “the kids have had a lot of fun with the games and entertainment.”

Even for those without children, the music, concessions, and expanded vendor area provided hours of entertainment. Jake Redovich, a Young Professionals Network member who came with friends shared, “It’s the greatest festival in all of Muscatine. . .. It’s a great way to relax at the end of the week, [and] it’s getting better every time!”
