Senior Resources is excited to announce their annual Community Cook Out Fundraiser continues growing in 2021. Senior Resources is a 501©(3) nonprofit organization that has assisted disadvantaged residents in Muscatine County for over 45 years. During the unprecedented times of the last 14 months, this highly susceptible population has faced challenges of fear and isolation as residents and their caregivers learn new ways to remain safe and healthy while hoping to return to an active lifestyle. As we continue to navigate life through, and past the pandemic we will always continue to advocate for and support the needs of individuals 60+ and adults with disabilities.

Traditionally Senior Resources has held a Community Picnic and Cook-Out as an annual fundraiser event. In 2020 we were fortunate the community continued to support our annual event in a drive thru style. This year we are merging the events to meet the social needs of all our supporters. We will have a drive thru option like in 2020, this time in the Crossroads Parking lot and then we will also offer some tables and tents for those looking to enjoy a nice event with friends and family. The Community Cook out will be held on Saturday, June 26, 2021, in the Crossroads parking lot at 1424 Houser St. The event has grown over the past years to be a major part of our overall fundraising campaign which is vital to our ongoing services to the elderly, low-income and disabled people in our community, and we hope to continue that success this year.

Tickets can be purchased prior to the event at Senior Resources Mon-Fri 8am-4pm, 1808 Mulberry Ave, and limited tickets will be available the day of the event. The $10 ticket will get supporters a Hamburger, Brat or Hot Dog, sides and a water. Due to the generous donations of our Sponsors: HyVee, The Rendezvous, Eichelberger Law, Lutheran Living, Van Meter, RNS, CBI Bank and Trust, Hoffman, Inc, First National Bank, Wal Mart, Vision Center, and C & D of Muscatine, 100% of the proceeds will go directly to the Programs provided at Senior Resources including: Adult Day Services, Meals on Wheels, Home Repair, Chore lawn care and snow removal and Outreach Services.

For more information or to purchase advanced tickets please contact Senior Resources at (563)263-7292.
