Muscatine Community School District Announces Finalists for Superintendent Interviews

Muscatine, Iowa – The Muscatine Community School District’s Board of Education is pleased to announce the selection of three candidates to interview for their superintendent vacancy. The candidates selected for interviews are:

  • Mr. Clint Christopher, current superintendent for Eastern Carver County School District 112 in Chaska, Minnesota.
  • Dr. Candace Steel, current elementary principal at Jefferson Elementary, Muscatine, Iowa.
  • Mr. Shane Williams, current Director of Educational Services with Mississippi Bend Area Education Agency.

Interviews are scheduled to be conducted the week of January 20, 2020. Numerous stakeholder groups will have the opportunity to meet the final candidates and submit input to the board about each of them. The board intends to make its selection by January 22, 2020.

Muscatine Community School District retained the services of McPherson & Jacobson, L.L.C. to assist in conducting their search. The consultants reviewed, screened, and conducted extensive background checks on twenty-one applicants. On December 16, 2019, the consultants presented the applicants to the Board of Education and provided them detailed background information on each applicant. The three finalists were selected from a group of six semi-finalists.
