WEST Liberty, Iowa–Due to possible exposure to a positive COVID-19 case, the West Liberty finance administrative department will close through at least a week. Interim City Manager Lee Geertz explained in a statement: “No one at the City has tested positive for COVID-19. The Employee was in contact with a person last weekend who then tested positive for COVID-19. Since we have a small office and staff of five, we took steps to quarantine the administrative department.” Geertz added that she will make sure people can still drop off payments while the department remains closed.

The finance administrative department had already taken steps to prevent the spread of COVID-19. These included closing their offices to the public at least through May 4 and working in staggered shifts.
