West Liberty FFA Team Places 4th; Hodge Name National Winner

An FFA team placed 4th at the National Convention earlier this month.

West Liberty FFA’s Agricultural Issues and Perceptions team traveled to Indianapolis this week to compete at the FFA National Convention after being named State Champions in April of 2023. On Friday, Nov 3,  they were recognized for placing 4th in the nation.

West Liberty FFA Agricultural Issues and Perceptions Team

Members of this team were Addyson Lehman, Mya Elizondo, Nellie Stagg, Dominic Hernandez, Paige Werling, David Mahoney, and Amerie Alvarado.

West Liberty High School graduate Morgan Hodge was named winner of Outdoor Recreation Supervised Agricultural Experience (SAE) at the national convention.

Morgan was named the State FFA Outdoor Recreation winner in late February of this year.  SAE Proficiency awards recognize individual skills and career-based competencies developed through multiple years of participation in Immersion-type SAE projects.   Morgan submitted a 25-page application summarizing her outdoor recreation ag related work experience, including skills learned, money earned, challenges overcome, photographic evidence, and data to back up her experiences.
