WEST MIDDLE SCHOOL             ANNOUNCEMENTS                         9/18/2019

Today is a Purple Day!

Upcoming events and dates to remember:

Builder’s Club

-Are you interested in being involved in the school and the community?

-Do you like doing nice things for people?

-Do you enjoy volunteering? Or want to try it out?

If so, come to the new Builder’s Club informational meeting on Tuesday, September 24th, in Mrs. Proehl’s Room #8. You can come before school at 8-815 or after school at 330-345. See Mrs. Proehl in room 8 for more details!

We are excited to encourage our middle school students to attend home football games, and cheer on the Muscatine High School Muskies!  We want to ensure that our students, as well as members of our community, and those visiting Muscatine are able to enjoy these events.

Unless sitting with a parent/guardian, 7th and 8th grade students are expected to remain in the middle school section during home football games.  The middle school section is for middle school students only. Security will be enforced by the Muscatine Police Department, our School Resource Officers, and the Muscatine County Sheriff’s Department.

Restrooms and Concessions will be provided in the middle school section.  Students will be able to purchase drinks, candy, popcorn and food in the middle school section.

Middle school students attending the game without a parent/guardian will be expected to remain in the middle school section for the duration of the game. Refusal to comply with these expectations will result in a student being removed from the stadium and from school property.  (Students attending without a parent/guardian must be able to contact a responsible adult at all times, and must be picked up immediately when requested – or at the conclusion of the game. Students unable to contact an adult may be denied admission to future games.)

Here are some additional reminders of expectations for our middle school students:

  • Be Respectful
  • Be Responsible
  • Stand and remove hats for the National Anthem
  • No horseplay or rough-housing in the middle school section is allowed.
  • Use appropriate language
  • Comply immediately with all stadium staff and law enforcement requests

We encourage families to take a moment to discuss these expectations with students to ensure an enjoyable time for all community members attending the game and supporting our Muskies.  Failure to abide by these expectations may result in removal from the stadium, and loss of privileges in attending future activities or events.

Enjoy cheering the Muskies as you support our team!

Go, Muskies!
