Spring has (kind of) sprung?

Living in Muscatine near the riverfront is an exciting experience during the spring season. The city is located on the banks of the Mississippi River and is known for its stunning natural beauty and outdoor recreational opportunities. As spring approaches, the town transforms into a vibrant and lively place filled with energy and excitement. One of the things I am looking forward to this spring in Muscatine is the arrival of the first warm and sunny days after a long and harsh winter. This season is characterized by mild temperatures, gentle winds, and abundant sunshine, making it an ideal time to explore the great outdoors. With the arrival of spring, the city’s parks and gardens come to life, and the riverfront is adorned with the beautiful colors of blooming flowers and lush greenery. I look forward to taking long walks by the river, admiring the stunning views, and breathing fresh air.

The Muscatine riverfront is perfect for fishing, boating, kayaking, and camping. There are also parks and nature trails where you can hike, bike, or enjoy a picnic. I look forward to these activities, enjoying the fresh air and getting exercise.

Another aspect of spring in Muscatine that I am looking forward to is the local festivals and events. The city is home to several popular events, including the Muscatine Area Farmers Market, held every Saturday during the spring and summer. I’d be remiss if I didn’t give a shout-out to outgoing farmer’s market director Jennifer DeFosse. She helmed things for nearly 11 years and turned our Muscatine Area Farmer’s Market into an award-winning one recognized statewide! Mario Lebron will take over, and I know he will do a fantastic job (Mario and his husband, Darryl, own the Merrill Soap Company). This market is a great place to find locally grown produce, handmade goods, and other items.

We’re also not too far out from the return of Almost Friday Fest featuring live music along the Mighty Mississippi River! By far one of my all-time favorite ongoing events here in Muscatine!

Spring brings renewed energy and a sense of community to Muscatine. This season is a time for renewal and growth, reflected in the city’s vibrant atmosphere. One place we’ll be frequenting is the Muscatine Dog Park! Our puppy, Ethel, I assume, will love running around and interacting with the other dogs. If you’re a dog owner, I highly recommend you utilize the dog park!

There are many things to look forward to this spring in Muscatine. Whether you are a fan of outdoor recreation, festivals, and events or simply appreciate the beauty of nature, there is something for everyone in this city. I look forward to experiencing all that spring offers here in the Pearl City.
