LETTS, Iowa–The 20th annual Finger Lakes International Wine and Spirits Competition took place July 14-15 and 20-21 in Mendon, New York. The event represents one of the largest charitable wine and spirits competitions in the world run by a nonprofit organization. This year’s competition attracted over 2,000 entries from 12 countries, 34 states, and 14 provinces.
A distinguished group of judges composed of sommeliers, wine makers, wine writers, and experienced spirits judges evaluated this year’s entries. The panel of judges sampled the wines and spirits blindly, with only the varietal or blend identified. They received no indication of geography, vintage, or price point, ensuring total unbiased evaluation went to each wine and spirit. The judges awarded bronze, silver and gold medals, and in unanimous votes, double gold.
Ardon Creek received awards for four wines:
- Gold: Ardon Depot White, semi-dry white wine
- Silver: Rosemary’s Rosé, semi-sweet rosé wine
- Silver: Lace Curtain White, dry white wine
- Bronze: Nouveau, semi-dry red wine
