MUSCATINE, Iowa – City of Muscatine offices will be closed on Friday, July 3, 2020, for the Independence Day holiday, and there will be no refuse or recycling collection on that day.

Administrative offices at Muscatine City Hall will be closed on Friday, July 3, 2020, for Independence Day. City administrative offices will reopen at 8 a.m. on Monday, July 6, 2020.

The Muscatine Fire Department and Muscatine Police Department will be staffed but administrative offices will be closed on Friday, July 3, 2020. Public access to the Public Safety Building remains limited due to COVID-19 guidelines. The Muscatine Transfer Station will be closed on Friday, July 3, 2020, and Saturday, July 4, 2020, for the Independence Day holiday. The facility will resume regular hours on Monday, July 6, 2020.   • REFUSE COLLECTION – There will be no curbside refuse or yard waste collection on Friday, July 3, 2020. Residents on the Friday route will have their refuse collected on Monday, July 6, 2020, along with the regular Monday route.
  • RECYCLING COLLECTION – There will be no change to the curbside recycling schedule.
  • BULKY WASTE COLLECTION – There will be not bulky waste collection on Friday, July 3, 2020, or Monday, July 6, 2020.
  • COMPOST FACILITY – The Compost Facility at the Muscatine Transfer Station will be closed on Friday, July 3, 2020, and Saturday, July 4, 2020. Normal hours will resume on Sunday, July 5, 2020 (12-6 p.m.)
  • PUBLIC TRANSIT – MuscaBus will not operate on Saturday, July 4, 2020. Regular MuscaBus service will resume on Monday, July 6, 2020. For more information, call 563-263-8152 or click on the following link to visit the Public Transit page on the City of Muscatine website.
  • MUSCATINE ART CENTER – The Muscatine Art Center will be closed on Friday, July 3, and Saturday, July 4. The Art Center will resume regular hours on Sunday, July 5 (1-4 p.m.). The Art Center is normally closed to the public on Mondays, and is currently open Tuesday-Friday 10 a.m.-4 p.m., and Saturday and Sunday 1-4 p.m. For more information, call 563-263-8282 or click on the following link to visit the Muscatine Art Center web page.
  • MUSSER PUBLIC LIBRARY & HNI COMMUNITY CENTER – The Musser Public Library will be open 10 a.m.-6 p.m. on Friday, July3, 2020, closed on Saturday, July 4, 2020, and open on Sunday, July 5, 2020, from 1-3 p.m. Regular hours of operation have been modified at the present time with building hours limited to 10 a.m.-6 p.m. Monday through Friday, 10 a.m.-2 p.m. Saturdays, and 1-3 p.m. Sundays.
