City offices closed Nov. 28-29; refuse, recycling delayed

MUSCATINE, Iowa – Administrative offices at Muscatine City Hall will be closed on Thursday, Nov. 28, and Friday, Nov. 29, for the Thanksgiving holiday. City administrative offices will reopen at 8 a.m. on Monday, Dec. 3.

The Transfer Station along with the Compost Facility will also be closed on Thursday and Friday, but both will be open on Saturday, Nov. 30 for normal hours of operation.

There will be no curbside refuse or yard waste collection on Thursday, Nov. 28. Residents on the Thursday route will have their refuse collected a day earlier, on Wednesday (Nov. 27), along with the normal Wednesday route. Refuse collection for the Friday route will be on Monday, Dec. 3, along with the regular Monday route.

There will be no curbside recycling collection on Thursday, Nov. 28. Residents on Thursday Route B will have their recycling collected on Friday, Nov. 29. Recycling collection for Friday Route B will be on Saturday, Nov. 30. Regular collections will resume on Monday, Dec. 3.

Additional office closures and schedule changes for the Thanksgiving holiday include:

Muscatine Art Center will be closed on Thursday, Nov. 28, and will resume regular hours Friday, Nov. 29.

Muscatine Municipal Golf Course will be closed on Thursday, Nov. 28, and will resume regular hours Friday (sunrise to sunset), weather permitting.

Muscatine Fire Department administrative offices closed on Thursday, Nov. 28, and Friday, Nov. 29. Stations will be staffed.

Muscatine Police Department administrative offices closed on Thursday, Nov. 28, and Friday, Nov. 29. Patrol and station masters will be on duty.

Musser Public Library and HNI Community Center will be closed on Thursday, Nov. 28, and will resume regular hours Friday, Nov. 29.

Parking will operate under weekend/holiday regulations.

Parks and Recreation administrative offices closed on Thursday, Nov. 28, and Friday, Nov. 29, with normal operations at most recreation centers.

Public Works administrative offices will be closed on Thursday, Nov. 28, and Friday, Nov. 29, and will not operate the Leaf Pickup Program.

Water and Resource Recovery Facility administrative offices closed on Thursday, Nov. 28, and Friday, Nov. 29.
