“Climate is Changing. Can We?” will be held at Muscatine Community College Student Center on Saturday morning, 10 a.m. to noon, Oct. 15. This is a free community meeting to engage people and promote a sustainable environment in Muscatine County. Participants will hear and talk with leaders regarding what we can do together to promote energy efficiency, renewable energy, cleaner waterways, and organic recycling. Find out where Muscatine and its surrounding communities are in terms of sustainability and energy use.
The event will offer learning about energy districts, electric transportation, watersheds, and a student organic recycling project. Talk and plan with other concerned individuals about how we can advocate for energy policies that will set goals and measure improvement. The event will encourage interested people to work together to move Muscatine area toward energy efficiency and sustainability.
Muscatine area citizens will gather to be stewards of the land on which we stand. Action plans will be explored to highlight the value of saving energy and saving money.
The event is free and sponsored by Clean Air Muscatine, League of Women Voters of Muscatine County, and Muscatine Community College.
The public is invited to attend and refreshments will be served.
