Muscatine families in need of food assistance will have access to 800 pantry boxes at next week’s Muscatine Mobile Food Pantry distribution, thanks to a generous anonymous donor.

The expanded Pantry Pickup Day is scheduled for December 9, 2025, from 1:30 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at Muscatine Church of Christ. The event is hosted by the church in partnership with River Bend Food Bank and a team of local volunteers.

More Boxes, Same Mission

Typically, the Muscatine Mobile Food Pantry serves a set number of households each month based on available resources. This December, an anonymous donor stepped forward, allowing the team to increase the total to 800 boxes.

Of those:

• 600 boxes will be available by online reservation during selected time slots.

• 200 boxes will be held for first-come, first-served guests who check in at the Palms Theater.

Organizers say the goal is simple: make sure anyone who needs food can get it safely, fairly, and with as little stress as possible—for both guests and volunteers.

How Reservations Work

Online reservations open on Monday, December 1, 2025, at 12:00 p.m. (noon).

Guests who RSVP online and receive a confirmation email with a QR code are already checked in:

• You do not need to stop at the Palms Theater on pantry day.

• Simply arrive during your chosen time slot and follow the traffic directions.

• To help ease congestion on the bypass, guests are asked to enter from the north, using Tipton → Bayfield → Mulberry Avenue.

This system gives families peace of mind that a box will be waiting for them when they arrive.

First-Come, First-Served at the Palms Theater

For those who are unable to RSVP online, a limited number of boxes will still be available:

• Check-in for first-come, first-served boxes starts at 1:30 p.m. at the Palms Theater parking lot.

• Volunteers will help guests sign in and then release vehicles to the church to pick up their boxes.

This ensures that people without internet access—or those who learn about the event late—still have a way to receive food.

Balancing Need and Capacity

By combining online reservations with drive-up check-in, the Muscatine Mobile Food Pantry aims to:
