Financial Partners, LLC has committed to a five-year scholarship to United Way of Muscatine’s Kids First Fund. This is in honor of Mike Hagerty’s retirement.
Mike has been an integral part of the Kids First Committee since it began in 2009. He was on the founding committee and continues to be a major supporter of the Kids First Fund. Hagerty is not only a financial supporter but also spearheads many fundraising events including quarterly Kids First Pancake Breakfasts and pie sales at RAGBRAI when it came through Muscatine and more.
The Kids First Fund was created to help kids stay connected by getting involved in activities and to eliminate barriers to learning. School district employees identify kids that would benefit from the program. Some of the items covered by the fund are shoes, clothing, gas for college visits, school supplies, and activity fees. Each year the Kids First Fund helps over 1,000 children receive the support they need so they are able to overcome obstacles to learning and participation in extracurricular activities.
“We are incredibly thankful to Financial Partners, LLC for their generous contribution to the Kids First Fund over the next 5 years. This is a remarkable way to honor Mike and continue his legacy. Since the inception of the Kids First Fund, Mike has been tirelessly dedicated to ensuring children in Muscatine County have access to the things they need so they can be successful in school and have opportunities for participation in extracurricular activities just like their peers. Thank you will never be enough, but we, as a community, are eternally grateful,” said Hilary Henke, United Way of Muscatine’s Community Engagement Manager.
