Dear Muskies, 

The Muscatine Community School District Food & Nutrition Department is pleased to announce the ‘Summer Food Service Program’ return and weekly mean pick-up this summer.  See below for additional information and a survey link to register your family.  

Please read this notification thoroughly. 

All families interested may complete the survey for EACH child in their household to participate.

Children attending Jefferson Elementary School’s SPARK or Salvation Army’s Kid Zone Programs will receive a breakfast & lunch while there. Parents/Guardians will only be eligible to pick up weekend meals while those programs are in session.

The Muscatine CSD Food & Nutrition Team will provide meals for kids ages 1 – 18 at Muscatine High School (MHS). The meals picked up will contain 7 days of breakfasts & lunches for each child in your household. The following meal components will be included for each day:

Breakfast Components (Offerings)
Grains (Example – Assorted Cereal, Assorted Grahams, Assorted Pastries) 
100% Assorted Fruit Juice and/or Assorted Fruit 

White 1% Milk 

Lunch Components (Offerings) 
Meat/Meat Alternate (Example – Meat, Eggs and/or Cheese)
Grains (Example – Bread, Buns, Rolls) 
Vegetables (Example – Fresh Broccoli, Cauliflower, Celery, Whole Potatoes, Assorted Canned Vegetables) 
100% Assorted Fruit Juice and/or Fresh Fruit 
Chocolate Skim Milk 

* Offerings are subject to change, but USDA regulations will always be met. 

USDA will only allow a Parent OR Guardian OR Student(s) to pick up the meals, unless children are with a grandparent, sibling, aunt, uncle, neighbor, etc are in the car with them.

Those who complete this survey agree that a Parent or Guardian or Children(s) will pick up meals at MHS at 2705 Cedar St in Muscatine on Wednesday, June 12th, 2023 & Wednesdays that follow through July 31st, 2024.  

Due to USDA regulations, MHS weekly meal pick-up is the only meal site open this summer.
