MUSCATINE, Iowa–This summer, Girl Scout Troop 1039, comprised of students if fifth and sixth grade, has started working towards their Bronze Award, which requires 20 hours of volunteering from each troop member. The scouts have worked with It Takes a Village Animal Rescue and Resources to start earning their hours. Aug. 20, the scouts will sell handmade bracelets, bookmarks, dog toys, dog treats, and stickers at the Muscatine Farmers Market located at the corner of Third and Sycamore. The troop will use the money they raise to purchase supplies for It Takes a Village.
