This weekend a market will be held in Tipton that will have something for everyone to enjoy.
Good Makers Market will have its fall show Friday, Sept. 1, from 3 – 7 p.m. and Saturday, Sept. 2, from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the Cedar County Fairgrounds located at 1195 210th Street.
The first 100 people to attend the Good Makers Market will get a bag full of coupons and some gifts. Owner Jessica Meyer pictured right.
“Our vendors sell everything from amazing vintage finds, to handmade jewelry, apothecary, art, repurposed furniture and home decor and so much more,” said Good Makers Market organizer Jessica Meyer. “We also have a few boutique mobile clothing vendors.”
Those wishing to attend should get there early. The first 100 people that attend will get a Good Makers Market swag bag with coupons to local vendors and gifts. The market will have live music, food trucks, and “good people with good goods.” Good Makers Market is a perfect place to shop with local businesses while meeting the actual artisans and makers behind the brands.
“Good Makers Market has something for everyone,” Meyer said. “Over 150 vendors from around the Midwest. Everything from handmade and vintage to mobile boutiques. Live music sets the whole vibe. Enjoy that while you have a drink from the vintage camper bar. Everyone always raves about our food trucks, there’s even going to be a puppy food truck for your furry family members. Just good vibes all around.”
Every year Meyers sees the attendance increase.
“I think people keep returning to our event because it just has a vibe you can’t explain,” Meyer said. “Everyone is so much fun. our vendors are just the best.”
Jessica Meyer first started Good Makers Market back in 2016 at the Barn And Bunker Hill. As a small business owner herself, she knew this was a unique opportunity to highlight local creatives and makers in one place. By the fall of 2017, Good Makers Market had outgrown its original home and moved to the Cedar County Fairgrounds in Tipton. Now hosting her fourteenth in-person show, this market has grown from 40 vendors to now over 150. The Good Makers Market is held every year on Memorial Day and Labor Day. Meyer said she has loved bringing together makers, merchants, and small businesses alike for one amazing weekend.
